Electric tank decision tree
Check the dedicated 240V breaker. If it is on and the tank is cold, look only at the manufacturer’s accessible reset if the cover is designed for a homeowner—do not remove live covers. Repeated trips or a hot breaker: leave it off and call. If the tank is lukewarm, a lower element or thermostat is a common next suspect and needs a technician.
